Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.)
We welcome you to the Religious Education of All Saints Parish. If you are interested in becoming Catholic or are missing particular sacraments of initiation and desire to receive them, we invite you to be a part of the R.C.I.A.
R.C.I.A. is also open to those who are Catholic but desire a deeper understanding of their faith as an adult. The program is an incredible opportunity to strengthen your Catholic identity and bring your faith to life in a new way.

Our Religious Education is here to assist you in your conversion, preparation and reception of the sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation and communion), reconciliation/penance and marriage. We do so by enlightening the richness of our Catholic faith through Scripture and Tradition, through the power, grace and inspiration of the Holy Spirit; in order to lead you to a life of prayer and communion in service to others. We gather weekly to foster a living faith in the Lord through study and application of God’s word to their lives.

The reception of a sacrament is an important step in the process of Christian initiation, which begins at Baptism. A sacrament is a physical way of receiving God's grace. This is why careful study and preparation are important. It is part of our Catholic Church to celebrate the 7 sacraments. The sacraments were instituted and given to the Church by Christ. In the sacraments we meet Christ and He gives us sanctifying grace. (CCC# 1131)

Jesus calls us to be part of His mission and shows us how to serve. “The greatest among you will be your servant.” Mt. 23:11. All Saints invites you to embrace Jesus’ call and be a part of that mission.

CLASSES

Our adult preparation is from September thru April. Registrations begins on May 14,2024 Classes will be offered in English and Spanish on Tuesdays from 7:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Starting on September 10, 2024.

Part of the R.C.I.A. process is investigating into the status of married couples (i.e. validity of their current marriage) so as to provide you an unencumbered entrance into the Church. Depending on a couple’s situation, it may not be permissible to provide the Sacraments of Initiation. It is important to point out that marriage is an important aspect of the deepening Christian conversion, and a sacrament that is not to be separated from the sacraments of initiation for couples.

Convalidation (bringing your marriage into the Church) of a marriage is part of the joyful process of full initiation into the life of the Church.

REGISTRATION
Requirements:
1. Completed registration form.
2. If not baptized, birth certificate.
3. Copy of Baptismal Certificate.
  1. If you’re unsure if your baptism from another Christian denomination is valid, please bring a copy to the office.
4. Copy of First Holy Communion certificate (when applicable)
5. Family ID/Envelope Number from All Saints Parish, if you don't have one, stop by the Parish Office.
6. Picture ID.
7. $125.00 Supply Fee (cash, check, money order or credit/debit card) may be made in-person, by mail or phone. This fee covers text, Bible, Catechism of the Catholic Church, robe, and all miscellaneous course supplies.
REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT THE BIRTH/BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE.
NOTE: Registration in Religious Education does not register the family with All Saints. To become a parishioner, please stop by the Parish Office.

DOCUMENTS NEEDED
These documents are required and must be in the Office of Religious Education no later than the second week of December.
1. A recent baptismal certificate dated no more than 6 monthsfrom the date brought to the office.
  1. You will need to contact the parish (doesn’t matter the country) where you were baptized to request a new one with notations.
2. First Holy Communion certificate (if applicable).
3. If married, civil marriage certificate and if applicable Church marriage certificate.
4. If you have been married before, civilly or in the Church, please provide all previous marriage(s) certificate(s) and the final divorce decree and/or declaration of nullity from the Catholic Church.
5. If you’re married or cohabiting, the same documents are required from your spouse.
